Our second event will celebrate the rich history of pig and pork in Limerick city and re-connect our generation to the older generation who’s crafts and skills have been lost.

We need to engage with our food culture and heritage to remember the rich history of pork in our city; the once short chain from backyard/farm to table is now a long and complicated industrialised system. Our hands-on black pudding workshop will teach the simple skills and knowledge that most households once had.

Paul Williams from canteen and Caroline from Rigneys Pork will host the workshop, the aim of which is to have eveyone make their own black pudding using these forgotten skills and only the best free range pork. A fun and informal event.
